Iranian Kyokushin karate team shines in Japan

Iran’s Kyokushin karate team stood first in the international kyokushinkai karate competitions in Japan on Sunday.

Four Iranian Kyokushin karatekas including Hossein Parvari, Sajjad Heidari, Saeed Safari and Rouya Broumand participated in the contests.

The competitions were held in Tokyo from November 29-30.

Kyokushinkai is a style of stand-up, full contact karate, founded in 1964 by Masutatsu Oyama.

Kyokushinkai is Japanese word for “the society of the ultimate truth.” It is rooted in a philosophy of self-improvement, discipline and hard training.
